SHERMAN AUXILIARY

The Auxiliary was formed in 1945 and has initiated many projects over the years, including funding for Sherman’s Family Birthing Center, Geo-thermal Lake educational project, Sunrise Life Center in the Cancer Care Center, Pet Therapy for Sherman patients, Sherman Hug’ems, Pediatric Holiday Cheer, scholarships for students going into the health field, and the continued financial support of our beautiful Tree House gift shop.

The Auxiliary has been able to accomplish all of this and more through the hard work of over 400 active volunteers and the financial help of generous donors.

Annual Benefit Gala

The annual Benefit Gala is the Auxiliary’s premier fundraising event.

This event promises to be the “Bees Knees,” complete with all the trappings of the 1920’s, including entertainment, fabulous food, and bootlegged beverages. Prepare to go back in time to a fancy-free world of flapper girls and dapper gentlemen. We invite you to grab your 1920’s garb or best black and white and get ready to shimmy and shake!

The proceeds of this year’s gala will support the Center for Cancer Care at Sherman Hospital to expand their support and survivorship programs.  With help from generous donors like you, they will be able to hire licensed mental health professionals to assist oncology patients in everything from distress screening to ongoing support before, during, and after treatment.  The psychosocial support they provide patients, caregivers, and family members including children, is crucial to their treatment.  In addition to our breast cancer support group, the cancer center will be able to add two additional on-site groups that meet monthly for all cancer types and caregivers.
