Sherman nurses treat every patient as an individual through compassion and outstanding skills. Nursing education ensures that we maintain standards of excellent patient care. Our hospital has been progressing with great success to build a Magnet culture of excellence that promotes the highest standards of professional nursing care resulting in outstanding clinical outcomes, patient safety and nursing satisfaction.
Donor support helps Sherman continue to enhance nursing education through a Nursing Fellowship Program. This new program mentors nurses in the skills and knowledge to implement and evaluate evidence-based practice. The purpose of the evidence-based-practice nursing fellowship is to promote quality and safety for the patients we serve. This will be accomplished by promoting the integration of evidence into practice, which will close the gap now seen nationwide between knowledge generation and its implementation. The overall objective of the fellowship will be to measure improvements in patient-care outcomes.
